Joining the Stay One Degree community is easy, quick and free:

1. Go to . Type your first name, last name, email address and a password.
2. You will then be prompted to provide some information about yourself to create your member Profile. This information is used to verify every member of our community.
3. Once your Profile is completed you can start exploring our homes and planning your next holiday

2. Manage Your Account

Your Personal Profile

Your Profile is what other users see when they click on your profile picture. You can change your details by clicking My Profile and then editing and saving the new details. A profile picture is recommended to help identify you. You can click on the camera icon to access a photo in your browser.

Your email address, mobile phone and emergency contact details will remain confidential and not be visible to other users. This information will only be shared with another user when you have a confirmed reservation.


Resetting Your Password

You can reset your password within Account Settings.

3. Home Owners

Listing A Home

Go to My Homes and Add New Home. You will then be walked through the simple steps to list your home. Once you have provided some initial details of your home, the Stay One Degree team will review these and be in touch to discuss next steps.


Calendar

You are able to set the dates that your home is available. You can do this when you initially list the property and subsequently edit within Manage My Homes.

You are also able to add an ical link so that your calendar automatically updates.


Pricing

Rates can be set on a daily basis so that you can adjust for weekends and high, medium and low seasons.

Rates quoted should always include the Booking Fee payable to Stay One Degree.

Any cleaning fee, security deposit, local taxes and House Rules can be included within Property Policies.


Booking Requests

Only your One Degree network will be able to make a booking at your home. You can either select Instant Bookings or to receive Booking Requests.

Instant Bookings - guests are able to instantly confirm a booking at your home for available dates on your calendar.

Booking Requests – you will receive an email for your approval to confirm the booking. You are required to respond with 24 hours to accept or decline the booking.

While a Booking Request is outstanding, the dates are automatically blocked on your calendar so other Guests are unable to book them.


Receiving Payment From Stay One Degree

Stay One Degree provides Home Owners a number of options to receive payments including bank transfer and PayPal.

All Home Owners are required to provide a preferred payment method when listing a home.

The payment you will receive will be the nightly rate multiplied by the number of nights minus a Booking Fee. You can view the exact breakdown in Home Reservations inside My Homes.

Stay One Degree will deposit the funds to your selected account having deducted the Booking Fee as they are received from your Guests:

50% non-refundable payment less the Booking Fee on confirming the booking request.

Remaining 50% payment around 10 weeks before check-in.

For any bookings accepted within 10 weeks of arrival, the full payment amount less the Booking Fee will be deposited into your account. This is non-refundable.


Booking Fee

Home Owners are charged a Booking Fee for each booking made via Stay One Degree.


Security Deposits

A Home Owner can select to include a Security Deposit in their listing prior to confirming a booking. If the Home Owner wishes to make a claim on the Security Deposit, the Home Owner must contact Stay One Degree within 7 days of checkout or prior to the next Guest, whichever is earlier, including full details of the claim they wish to make. Stay One Degree will provide assistance in mediating with the Guest. If the Guest agrees to pay the Home Owner in connection with any damage or Stay One Degree determines that the Guest is responsible for any damage, Stay One Degree may charge the Payment Method used to make the booking for the amount of the damage claim.


Home Owner Cancellation

In the event you cancel a booking at your home, you are required to issue a refund in full to the Guest including the Guest Service Fee. The Booking Fee paid to Stay One Degree is non-refundable.

4. Guests

Contacting Home Owners

You can use the Message function to ask home owners any questions.

To make a booking you are required to be a One Degree connection with the Home Owner. If you are not a One Degree connection, you will need to send the Home Owner a 1° Connect request and be accepted before you can make a booking.

Once you are One Degree connected, you can contact the Home Owner on messenger to discuss the property and ask any questions or special requests. Whether you can book instantly or require a confirmation from the home owner will depend on the owners’ preference. If the Home Owner requires to approve reservations, you will receive a confirmation within 24 hours. Your booking is held for this period so that no-one else can book the same period. If there is no response within 24 hours the booking is cancelled.


Making A Booking On Stay One Degree

To make a booking you are required to be a One Degree connection with the Home Owner. If you are not a One Degree connection, you will need to send the Home Owner a 1° Connect request and be accepted before you can make a booking.

Once you are One Degree connected, you can contact the Home Owner on messenger to discuss the property and ask any questions or special requests. Whether you can book instantly or require a confirmation from the home owner will depend on the owners’ preference. If the Home Owner requires to approve reservations, you will receive a confirmation within 24 hours. Your booking is held for this period so that no-one else can book the same period. If there is no response within 24 hours the booking is cancelled.


Cancellation Policy

  1. To confirm the booking a 50% non-refundable deposit is required.
  2. The balance will be due at least 10 weeks prior to arrival. Once the balance has been paid, the booking is non-refundable.
  3. When booking within 10 weeks of arrival, a full non-refundable payment is required.
  4. If the UK FCDO, US State department or equivalent Government travel advisory in your country of residence advises against all but essential travel OR the destination you are travelling to has entry restrictions in place that prohibit you from travelling, such as closed borders, you will be entitled to postpone your stay to alternative dates. Restrictions must be in place, or are projected to be in place, on the date of check-in (to be reviewed 21 days prior to arrival). This applies to all bookings unless otherwise agreed with the homeowner and provided in writing. Outside of this, our standard cancellation terms will apply.

Home Owner Cancellation

If the Home Owner cancels your stay, the Home Owner is required to issue a refund in full.


Payments On Stay One Degree

Guests have the option of paying via bank transfer or credit card. 50% of the amount payable plus any Guest Service Fee is required to confirm a booking. The residual 50% is payable 10 weeks prior to check-in.

If the Home Owner does not confirm your booking within 24 hours, the booking is automatically cancelled. You will not be charged and can go ahead and make another booking.


Guest Service Fee

Stay One Degree charges guests a small fee to support the cost of maintaining our member network and providing member support.


Payment Methods

Guests have the option of paying via bank transfer or credit card. Offline or cash payments breach our Terms and Conditions. Payments are made in the preferred currency of the Home Owner.


Security Deposits

Home Owners can select to include a Security Deposit in their listing prior to confirming a booking. You will see the exact amount of the Security Deposit within the Property Policies.

If the Home Owner wishes to make a claim on the Security Deposit, the Home Owner must contact Stay One Degree within 7 days of checkout or prior to the next Guest, whichever is earlier, including full details of the claim they wish to make. Stay One Degree will provide assistance in mediating with the Guest. If the Guest agrees to pay the Home Owner in connection with any damage or Stay One Degree determines that the Guest is responsible for any damage, Stay One Degree may charge the Payment Method used to make the booking for the amount of the damage claim.
